Another outstanding Memorial Day observance memory would be the annual Memorial Day parades from the center of town, through Chester Rural Cemetery and on to St. Michael's Cemetery. See Dave Komarnicki's article, "A Trip Down Chester's Memory Lane", for some first-hand recollections of that observance.

Pulaski Day parades up Edgmont Ave. to Chester Park

"My father (Capt. John Welc, 1918-1983) was Captain of the Chester Police force for many years, Marshall in the Pulaski Day Parades, and very involved in the West End."
- Patricia Welc Kelly, gunthrsmom@aol.com

"I remember when in school we would represent St Hedwigs the parade would line up in Scotts parking lot downtown and proceed up Edgmont Ave and end up at Chester Park where we would be treated to a soda & hotdog. I know Dr. Stanley was head of the parade committee for many years he use to ride a horse in the parade."
