Text of Obituary: Cleveland S. "Clevie" Posey, 44, of Chester, an employee of Sun Oil Company, Marcus Hook, died Feb. 29 at his home.

Born in Chester, Mr. Posey resided in Chester for 39 years and had moved to Twin Oaks for the last five years. He was employed by Sun Oil as a forklift operator for the last four years. Previously, he was a police officer for Chichester for a year and a Chester Police officer for seven years, and had been employed as a bus driver by Trailways and Leisure Line Bus Companies.

A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Posey was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Chester, and attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Twin Oaks.

Surviving are three sons, Andre and Swayne, both of Chester, and Richard in Georgia; a daughter, Trina of Chester; his mother, Bernice Gibson Posey of Twin Oaks; a dear friend, Jacqueline Miller of Chester; three brothers, Gregory Allen Posey of Twin Oaks, Rudolph C. Posey of Charles County, Md., and Torraize Posey of Claymont, Del.; and one grandson.

He was also the son of the late Cleveland O. Posey, who died in 1987.

The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 101 Washington Ave., Twin Oaks, where there will be calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in Chester Rural Cemetery.

The family will assemble at 2334 Thomas Ave., Twin Oaks.

Arrangements are by the Earl L. Foster Funeral Home of Chester.
