William I. Garrison Moulder, 68, of Wallingford, Nether Providence, a retired Philadelphia Electric Co. foreman, died Feb. 21 at home.
Born in Somers Point, N.J. Mr. Moulder was the son of the late George and Edwina Prescott Moulder. He grew up in the Chester area and was graduated from Chester High School in 1946 and had lived in Wallingford for more than 45 years.
Mr. Moulder was employed at Philadelphia Electric Co. for 42 years and retired from there as a foreman. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Philadelphia Electric.
A US Navy vetyeran of the Korean War, he served aboard the Art 5 USS Vulcan. A member of Leiper Presbyterian Church, Ridley Township, Mr. Moulder formerly belonged to Immanuel Baptist Church of Chester, where he served as a trustee. He also was a former member of Moyamensing Fire Co., Chester, and Garden City Fire Co., Nether Providence.
Mr. Moulder also had been active as a little League coach in Nether Providence and served briefly as a constable in the township.
A member of Nether Providence Senior Citizens Club, he was at one time the city champion in the Chester Bowling League. Also an avid gardener, Mr. Moulder enjoyed golf and model trains. He also did watercolor and acrylic paintings and loved to create wood crafts for friends.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Jean Langley Moulder, two sons, Gary William Moulder of Fleetwood, Pa., and Gregory R. Moulder of Wallingford, a daughter, Sandra J. Bergeron of Woodlyn, Ridley Township, a sister Rose Ripka of Dover, Del., and five grandchildren.
He also was the brother of the late George Moulder and Will Moulder.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Leiper Presbyterian Church, Ridley Township. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Calling hours Friday at the Bateman Funeral Home, Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven.
Notes: Mr. Moulder was born 11/29/1927.
