Joseph J. Seman, 87, of Aston, a longtime Scott Paper Co. employee and honored Shriner and mason, died July 22.
Born in Allentown, Mr. Seaman was a resident of Aston for 11 years. Prior to that he was a resident of Swarthmore and Middletown.
Mr. Seman was superintendent in the finishing department at Scott Paper for 40 years. He retired in 1973.
He was an avid deep sea fisherman.
Mr. Seman was a member of Middletown Baptist Church, as well as the Concord Lodge No. 625, F&AM; the Chester Consistory; and Lulu Temple in Philadelphia, by which he was named Man of the Year in 1976.
He also belonged to the Delaware County Shrine Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 21 in Chester, and served for the Goodwill Fire Co. He was an honorary member of the Industrial Management Club at Scott Paper.
He was the recipient of the Frederick Ringbloom Scott Award for 51 years of dedicated service to the masons.
Surviving are his wife, Florence B. Roath Seman; two sisters, Theresa Owens of Bethlehem and Mary Spicak of Allentown; a brother, Peter Seman of Vallejo, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the James M. Brower Funeral Home, 908 S. Providence Road, Routes 320 and 252, Wallingford, where calling will be after 9 a.m. Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery.
