Edward Jablonski, 78, of Upper Chichester, who worked as a butcher throughout his life, died June 2 at home.

Born and raised in Chester, he was the son of the late Joseph Jablonski and Julia Kozakykovska Jablonski. A resident of Aston for 34 years, he moved to Upper Chichester eight years ago.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Jablonski was a lifetime member of the Franklin Fire Co. of Chester. He enjoyed sports. He and his wife, Margaret Graham Jablonski, would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary today.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carol Allen of West Chester; two brothers, Joseph Jablonski of Brookhaven and Zigmund Jablonski of Upland; four sisters, Kate Miazza of Delaware, Helen Sosnowicz of Media, Stella DiSabatino of Chadds Ford and Ida Seesock of Florida, a grandson and a granddaughter.

He also was the father of the late Edward Thomas Jablonski, who died Jan. 9, 1994.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kaniefski Kendus D'Dnjolell Memorial Home, 3900 W. Ninth St., Trainer, where there are calling hours from 9 a.m. Friday. Burial is in Edgewood Memorial Park, Concord.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 600 N. Jackson St., Suite 200, Media, PA 19063, or Crozer-Chester Hospice in care of Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA 19013.

Notes: Mr. Jablonski was born 2/2/1920.
