Text of Obituary: Charles McMaster, 62, of Dover, Del., a former resident of Glen Riddle, died Feb. 10 at Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Born in Chester, Mr. McMaster lived in Glen Riddle for 10 years before moving to Dover 20 years ago. During his early life, he made his home in the Chester area.
Owner of the Oasis Bar and Package Store in Hartly, Del. for the last 20 years, Mr. McMaster previously was a seaman in the Merchant Marine Division of The Sun Company, Marcus Hook, for 25 years.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. McMaster was a member of the West End Boat Club, Felton Fire Company of Chester and the Delaware County Fireman's Association.
Surviving are a brother, John McMaster of Linwood; three sisters, Anne Fletcher of Sarasota, Fla.; Ethel Lombardo of Chester and Betty Haughey of Glen Riddle; and a dear friend, Betty McHale of Glen Riddle.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Minshall-Shropshire Funeral Home, Middletown and Knowlton Roads, Middletown. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester. Calling will be after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
