Text of Obituary: Anthony F. D'Angelo, 72, of Ridley Park, a retired maintenance supervisor in the Chichester School District, died Nov. 17 at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park.

Born in Ridley Park, Mr. D'Angelo resided in Chester before moving to Ridley Park 41 years ago.

Mr. D'Angelo was a maintenance supervisor for the Chichester School District for 10 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that, he was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Scott Paper Co.

He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served on active duty for six years and attaining the rank of master sergeant. He was a member of the Marine Corps League.

His other memberships include the Franklin Fire Co., the Ridley Park Seniors and St. Madeline Catholic Church, Ridley Park.

Mr. D'Angelo is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsie A. Zimath D'Angelo; three daughters, Diane Traband of Charlotte, N.C., and Gloria Phillips and Valerie D'Angelo, both of Ridley Park; two sons, Anthony F. D'Angelo Jr. of Cochranville, Pa., and Allan D'Angelo of Ridley Park; a brother, Alfred D'Angelo of Ridley Park; and nine grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Ferdinand D'Angelo and Concetta Cersone D'Angelo and brother of the late Samuel D'Angelo, who died in 1980.

A Christian Burial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Entombment will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery. Calling hours are after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
