NEW HOMES FOR OLD
First Low Rent Housing Project Under Way

Ground-breaking exercises held on August 2 at Lamokin Village started the first of three low-rent housing projects which the Chester Housing Authority has planned in its current slum clearance campaign. This unit, in the Ninth Ward, will house 350 low-income families, and two more projects, accommodating 300 and 350 homes, will follow. The total budget will be over 4 million dollars.

Langdon Post; From The Delaware County Advocate - August 1940

U. S. H. A. official Langdon Post addresses the gathering on the needs and problems of low-rent housing from a national viewpoint.

Senator Heyburn, Langdon Post, Mayor Peoples; From The Delaware County Advocate - August 1940

Mr. Post turns the first spadeful of earth as Senator Heyburn and Mayor Peoples look on. Each of the guests had a chance to dig, for a good start.
