(A biographical sketch from a Chester Times or Delaware County Daily Times newspaper clipping, "Know Your Police" from the collection of John C. "Snakes" Boyle, contributed by his granddaughters, Jane Boyle & Patty Boyle.) Walter W. Voshelle was appointed to the police department on Jan. 1, 1953, and assigned to prowl car duty. Born June 6, 1925, in Chester, he attended the public schools here. In 1943 Voshell joined the Army and was assigned to 101st Airborne Division. He went to Europe for 18 months with the outfit and came home a staff sergeant in 1946. Prior to joining the police department he worked for the General Steel Castings Corp. in Eddystone as a welder. Married to the former Myrice Zeismer, there are two children, Walter Jr., 6, and Susan, 13, both students at St. Michael's. Sports are his main hobby.
