1932 - 1983 Henry Ulan operated the store from 1932 until 1946 at 507 Market Street. When his son Sid took over in 1946, the store moved to 7th. Street until it closed in 1983.

? - 1932 - early 1960's "My grandmother owned the Hollywood Shop from the early 1930s to the very early 1960s. Her sister in-law Ida Cohen also worked there. 

Her name was Sarah Cohen, She married Isadore Kaplan sometime towards the end of this period and changed her name to Sarah Kaplan. After Chester, she lived in Philadelphia. 

She died in 1984. Her husband Harry Cohen died in 1932 at Crozer Hospital from an intestinal problem. He was an engineer for the Sun Oil company and designed some of the refinery apparatus at Marcus Hook. 

When Harry died in 1932, Sarah Cohen bought the Hollywood Shop business from a Canadian couple. 

The father of Sarah was Abraham Lebidine (Lebedinsky). The Lebidinsky’s arrived in Chester around 1905. My mother was born in Chester. She is Nancy Cohen and graduated from Chester High around 1945 I think."

  Seaton's Hat Shop & Shoe Repair 3rd St. between Edwards & Flower James Seaton   "Seaton's Hat Shop and Shoe Repair, located between Edward and Flower Streets: James Seaton, the owner, was an institution on Third Street.  He was a gregarious person with a contagious smile and a heart of gold. He eventually bought the two story building which included an apartment on the second floor."

  Florence L. Simpson's Millinery Store 7th St. near Central Ave. Florence L. Simpson   "Florence L. Simpson, a maker of ladies hats and owning a store on 7th street near Central Ave. was the grandmother of Dr. John O. Simpson, now superintendent of schools in Norfork, Va. Florence L. Simpson's brother was Charles Oakford Henry who owned several real estate properties in Chester and was chauffeur for Gov. Sproul. Dr. John O. Simpson got his middle name from this great uncle.

My grandmother, Florence L Simpson owned a Millinery Store at 7th and Central avenue. She designed and made hats for many women of Chester in that day. Her establishment was list in a book that my niece found in a library all the way down in Atlanta, Ga., about merchants of Delaware Co. Pa."
