Leander A. Tassoni

A detective for eight of his 14 years on the police force, Leander A. Tassoni was promoted to platoon sergeant on Dec. 15, 1953.

Tassoni was appointed to the force on Oct. 16, 1939 and promoted to detective on Nov. 1, 1945.

Married to the former Philomena Cocchi, they have two children, Mrs. Helen Cantler of Eddystone, and Ronald, 23, stationed with the Army at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Tassoni is 45 years of age and lives at 718 Lloyd st.

Prior to joining the force he worked at Ford Motor Co. for 10 years as a trimmer.

He was educated in the parochial schools of Chester and has attended several police schools since joining the force.

Among his hobbies he lists sports generally and motor cars.
