H. O'Brien
(A biographical sketch from a Chester Times or Delaware County Daily Times newspaper clipping, "Know Your Police" from the collection of John C. "Snakes" Boyle, contributed by his granddaughters, Jane Boyle & Patty Boyle.) The interest John H. O'Brien, 14-year police force veteran, maintains in baseball is far from academic. Because years ago he played professional baseball with teams in Richmond, Va., and Wilmington and Raleigh, N. C. That was before O'Brien decided to return to Chester, settle down on a job at the Aberfoyle Mills, 3rd and Morton and continue briefly to play in the infield with the Aberfoyle baseball team. After several years at that plant he joined the police force, where he's been assigned to traffic duty. He's almost become a fixture at the 7th and Welsh streets intersection, where he's been stationed for 10 years. Prior to that assignment, O'Brien served four years in a police prowl car. He attended schools in Chester, and lives at 321 W. 9th st. with his wife, Margaret. They have three daughters, all of whom are married.
