D. Pierce (A biographical sketch taken from One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914) Years in parentheses are years of service as a Director of The Bank of Delaware County and/or The Delaware County National Bank Eli D. Pierce (1835), son of John
and James (Dicks) Pierce, was born in Thornbury, December 28, 1789. He was
a farmer by occupation and a man of means. Several mills in Middletown
were owned by him, but outfitted and rented by tenants. Eli D. Pierce died
in Nether Providence, at what is now known as Palmer's Corner, February 1,
1871, aged 81 years. [Obituary] |
