White Maddock (A biographical sketch taken from One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914) Years in parentheses are years of service as a Director of The Bank of Delaware County and/or The Delaware County National Bank William White Maddock (1860-64),
son of James and Mary (Morton) Maddock, was born at what is now termed
Crum Lynne, Ridley township, February 10, 1816. In 1853, he was elected
secretary of the Darby and Chester Plank Road Company. He was a wealthy
farmer, whose father, when his son married, deeded to him the greater part
of the home farm, upon which William W. Maddock, in 1857, built the
present mansion house on the north side of the Post road, the lawn
adjoining to the east the Borough of Ridley Park. William W. Maddock died
there, February 29, 1884, aged 68 years. [Obituary] |
