Samuel Hewes (1818, 21-23, 30-34, 60-62) was born in Concord in 1784. He was a prosperous farmer in that township. When an aged man, approaching eighty, he removed to Pottsville, Schuylkill county, Pa., where he died, August 11, 1874, aged 90 years.
