Garrett (A biographical sketch taken from One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914) Years in parentheses are years of service as a Director of The Bank of Delaware County and/or The Delaware County National Bank Edward Garrett (1849-50, 52-54,
56-58), son of Thomas and Sarah (Price) Garrett, was born in Upper Darby
in 1801. He was a wealthy farmer, a highly respected and influential man.
He was named in the Act of April 10, 1835, a commissioner to receive
subscriptions for the stock of “The Delaware County Insurance Co.” He
died at his plantation in Upper Darby - part of the original tract taken
up by his ancestor, William Garrett, in 1684 - September 16, 1862, aged 61
