Cowgill (A biographical sketch taken from One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914) Years in parentheses are years of service as a Director of The Bank of Delaware County and/or The Delaware County National Bank Joshua C. Cowgill (1815-17) was a resident of Chester prior to June 13, 1811, for in a deed of that date made by Jeremiah McIlvain, conveying to John and Joshua Cowgill the tan yard property mentioned in the notice of John Cowgill, he is described as "of Chester." In December, 1815, he purchased John Cowgill's interest in the tannery and conducted the business until his death in 1832. [Obituary] |
