Margaret Winfree
Margaret Winfree, 70, of Chester, wife of former
Chester Police Chief Howard Winfree, died Thursday at
Union Hospital, Elkton, Md.
Born in Chester, Mrs. Winfree lived in the city most of her life.
She was employed years ago by the American Catholic Insurance Co., Philadelphia, and
Fidelity Bank, Chester.
Mrs. Winfree was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Penn Forest PCL 21, the Cecil County
(Md.) Homemakers Association and the Marianist League at St. James High School, Chester.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas H. of Upland and Brother Donald J. of Hollywood, Fla.; and
two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the William F. Bleyler Funeral Home, 500 W.
22nd St., Upland. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. Roberts Church,
Chester. Burial arrangements have not yet been made.
Calling hours will be after 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
