Margaretta W. VanRiper Dalton
Upland Resident Was 81

Mrs. Margaretta W. VanRiper Dalton, 81, widow of Edward W. Dalton, died Tuesday at her home, 1103 Woodside Av., Upland, after an illness of 15(?) months.

Although born in Rockdale, Mrs. Dalton's family brought her to Upland when she was two months old and she was one of the borough's oldest residents.

She was a member of Upland Baptist Church, and of the Women's Union of the church, and for many years was active in church affairs.  Her parents were Harman J. and Catherine VanRiper.

She married Edward W. Dalton in 1888, and had lived in the house in which she died since her marriage. Mr. Dalton died last Feb. 11.

She leaves five children: Edward and Catherine at home; Harman, of West Chester; Joseph, Garden City, and Mrs. Margaretta Jackson, of Parkside.   There are 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Imschweiler funeral parlors, 1600 Edgmont Av. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rev.David A. MacQueen, pastor of Upland Baptist Church, will officiate. Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home 7 to 9.
