Shirley provided the attached photo of herself, which was taken in 1953 or 1954 at the Grand Opening. Shirley recalled that rink owner, Mr. Jack Coopersmith, sanded the rink floor every summer. He would also clean and completely repaint the entire rink for the Grand Opening around September 1st.

The photo of Shirley was taken by Mr. Newton H. Hartman of Forge Road in Middletown Township. I am sure that a copy of the photo was one of the dozens of photos Mr. Coopersmith mounted on the walls of the rink lobby. Many of the photos displayed were of celebrities that visited the rink as well as employees and champion skaters that represented the Great Leopard Roller Rink.
