Hello Class of '69! If there was anyway that I could be there for this reunion, it would already have happened. I'm 3000 miles away, but my heart and soul will be there with you. At our graduation party, while I was trying desperately not to be a wallflower, the "Glass Onion" performed their covers and I knew an important era in my life had come to an end. I won a drawing prize that night: a 45 record of "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver. I still have that record. Everytime I hear the song, I think of Rez and all the people I grew up with. That might sound kind of strange, but actually it's a nice experience for me. So, "Song, song, song, sing, sing, sing, sing a song." Thanks to David Kasarsky and Jim Kiley for letting me know about this site. It's real nice to see a lot of familiar names: David Kasarsky, Kevin Dare, Joe Podgajny, Bob Blisard, Joe Kistler, Bob Weigand, John Lombardo, just to mention a few. God bless you all and somebody save me a pretzel before the bell is rung.

I'm hunting for my green shirt and cooking up my cupcakes for the Hobo Lunch Reunion! Bobby Blizzard and committee, thanks a million. All this week I've been walking around with a goofy grin on my face, recalling all the great times, wondering whether I'll see the folks who helped make them great. Was growing up in Chester in the 1960s just the best!? So many incredible, funny, sometimes sad, sometimes marvelous things that happened, all the while with the Beatles and Motown playing in the background. Can't wait to see you members of the Class of 1969.

Sorry about the double entry. I thought I needed to register my name into the system before I could enter messages (Duh!) I just found out about this site from Libby Weigand. I called her to find out about the reunion. I just heard about it a week ago from my sister Joan ('63) in Arizona she saw something on classmates.com but thought it was just her class. My mom also saw Lorraine Huber ('63) last week and she asked if we were going. Looking at this website it's hard to believe this has been going on for all this time and we hadn't known. It sounds great and everyone has done alot of work. Libby keeps in touch with some of the girls and she said she'll try and call more of them. Cookie

I can tell that Bob is just as excited about Saturday as the girls on the committee are. "Everyone" worked hard to help make something happen that should have happened years ago. Hopefully it will be a success and we can continue every year. Bob, Mary's name is Mary Young Peer. I know she won't be mad, because she realizes that last Thursday's meeting at Max's was probably the best and we all have some alcohol left in our systems. You can't go to Max's and just drink water all night! So, I'm sure the committee feels the same way and we want to thank you and Dave for getting this think started. You were challanged to find a place to meet months ago and look what has come out of it. I'm sure the committee feels the same way I do, that I've acquired a few more good friends. Hello to all the Rez Family, As the Reunion is upon us I would like to Remind all to wear their Green And White. Also, remembering that the theme is HOBO LUNCH It would be great to have as many as possible to support the effort allowing the monies to be forwarded to a Rez Alumni account for future outings. Also we will be having 50-50- drawings, one of which will be The Notre Dame- Maryland Football Game at the Meadowlands (2TICKETS), Donated by Dave Kasarsky. My thanks to you Dave. Along with a regular 50-50 Drawing to keep these wonderful events happening. Also with the efforts of Marie Borky Kokoszka and Matty Munos we will be having door prizes going off every 15 min. starting at 2pm. Thanks to all who have sent in their monies to make this possible, and also thank you Marie and Matty. I must also take time to thank Shirley Lambert for her dedication to the Reunion. Shirley has put together the Rez Alumni page along with the contributing of the wrist bands we will all receive at the Welcome table that are numbered for the door prizs drawings.Be sure to sign in. Also a special thanks to Mary Taylor ... for the excellent job she has done having the grounds (TTS) secured for us as well as her book keeping for the Reunion. Also a special thank you to Bill Repurtis for his efforts in having some of the Sisters that taught join us for this Renunion. This is AWESOME REZZERS. I want to thank my brother Dave Blisard for the donation of the 600 WAWA juices that help make the Hobo Lunch Complete. Oh, let me not forget to mention the 600 school yard pretzles that Marie has ordered for us also. Helen Henderson White, thank you for all your support with your outstanding thoughts and suggestions and don't forget to bring that clicker,this is going to be so great. Update: The deadline for sending your money for the reunion is July 15. As you know, the cost is $5 per person, $3 per child under 15 years of age. After the deadline, the cost will be $7 per person, and $4 per child at the door. Reason being....we need your money in order to better organize the event,the facilities, the DJ, and have a more accurate head count!!! This also entitles you to a door prize per class participating. On this note....we need a class rep for each class! The reps should help out with contacting people, word of mouth is always the best. So pick one or nominate yourself. You will be responsible for the class door prize (a gift basket) If you need help with it, I will help you! Been there, done that many times! You will be given the funds for it also. There will be swimming, volleyball, softball, horseshoes. Rose will be running another add in paper soon, we need to give her a phone number to put in ad for the people who do not have computers. That number will either be TSS or myself. Hopefully, Mary will accept that responsibility! If not, I will....Also NO GLASS is permitted on the TSS grounds. Bring your own poison, coolers, lawn chairs and food if you don't want to participate with the hobo lunch. Thanks to Rose Quinn for running the ads! We appreciate it. Thank you Sharon W. for telling me about this website. It was real nice to see you again. You still look the same, age has been kind to you. For all of you fellow chesterites, I graduated from Rez in 1963 and remember seeing the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 sailing down the Delaware River when I was in 8th grade. I graduated from St James in 1967. "Quae Sursum Quaerite." (Seek those things which are above) The Notre Dame girls were on the top floor of St James a few years before I went there. Hello to all of my friends on Clover Lane in Buckman Village and also in McCafferty Village and Highland Gardens. They were all great neighborhoods when I was growing up. My wife Diane and I have (6)children and (2) grandchildren. Four are on their own and our last two are in 12th and 9th grade. Hello to the Venable family, you guys are the greatest. I occasionally see Hugh Lomas and went to Butch(Hal Venables) and Carol's 25th wedding anniversary. He was living in Easton. BREAKING NEWS REGARDING THE REUNION! Thanks to everyone who attended (pictures to follow on web site). I just left Max's and this is the latest update (had a few drinks - so bare with me). Okay, we have had a lot of inquires regarding other classes, therefore, the reunion is now open to ALL classes who attended REZ. Thanks to Mary Young, we have obtained the Sun Center Facility - now called Tri-State Sports. You can visit their web site www.tristatesports.com to see everything available to us (WOW). There are a various activites including swimming. The date is August 17th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The fee is ONLY $5.00 per person (15 years of age and below is $3.00) and we are asking for you to send a check payable to TSS in advance (per person) so we can have a head count. Please be sure to note on the check (in the memo section) REZ Reunion, 8/17. Anyone traveling a distance - there will be discount hotels available to you. We are also asking for one representative from each class to participate in the meetings to better organize the event. The next meeting will be held at Max's on May 17th at 7:30. The theme (Linda Garvey's original idea)"HOBO Lunch"(Linda, sure wish you could have been at the meeting to take notes :). There will be tickets available ($2) for the HOBO lunch which will include a hot dog, cupcake and juice. We will also have soft pretzels available. There will be a DJ. You are allowed to bring any other food (including a grill) and beverage of choice. The best way to bring everyone together is word of mouth, however, Holy Saviour and Katherine Drexel chuches are going to be contacted to place a notice in the bulletin as well as contacting the Delaware County Times. We all have great friendships, memories and this is becoming an event NOT TO MISS and I'm really glad to part of it and from Chester! There will be more to follow and I'm sure if I left anything out someone will be sure to provide the information to all. Looking for to August which is FAST approaching!!!!

We go there for 4th of July to see the fireworks, and she is my neighbor's Joan Poore Elliott's cousin, and Mark Elliott's wife. There's alot of Youngs that graduated from Rez. Just catching up and read the suggestion about having the reunion at Tri-State Sports in Chester. This does not ring a bell. Where is it and what was it before? I also don't know what is meant by the HOBO theme. Is it like a brown bag thing/ bring your own food/drink? That would be great and the hot dog cart there too. I have some family members from classes that don't fall in the specified 65-85. Are there others? Is this going the untraditional type reunion and going to be a family type affair where we bring the kids? We could reserve for the # in our family with any fees required. I guess more like a family reunion than a school reunion. LOL! I like the ideas I have been reading but if I knew a bit about ideas from the last meeting it would be easier to brainstorm down here in Maryland. Great seeing how the word is spreading and there are probably more that don't have "pewters" to check in. Maybe we need some way for them to leave a message with their # so they can get the info when the time comes. Hello to another cousin, Shawn Padgett. I remember you were in one of the two 8th grades in the annex while I was in Sr Patricia W.'s first grade. Those days they let you go home 4 lunch!

UPDATE: Hey, we're probably going to have the reunion at Tri-State Sports in Chester. We'll talk about it more on the 26th....Mary Young manages Tri-State, and there is ample parking (for 500), which was a concern for Clayton Park. It's still down the road, and down the "way", as we used to call it! There is a pool there, which is a plus, being that it is August 17th. Also tossing around idea of a hot dog stand, if people want to buy hot dogs, my brother knows someone with a traveling hot dog stand (lol). Some philly pretzels, and penny candy (if theres such a thing) and that would truly make it a "hobo lunch". Any other ideas? I can't really remember what else they had for the hobo lunch? Besides Chester Hobo Rez Heads. I spoke w/Bob and he said it sounded good. Dave, let me know what you think if you see this.....Plus we don't have to sneak our poison or get a permit!!!! Thanks Mary! There will be a 3-5 dollar fee to pay for lifeguards, and that is it. There are picnic grounds, and lots of room. No rolling hills to fall down! How ironic, reunion in Chester....It's beautiful there now, very nice set up, all renovated. If we need to hold meeting, there is a new building w/conference room, something to consider if we max out max's back room. By the looks of it, I think we may!

one more thing....when you submit your entry, and reload or refresh, it takes a while to go through, so give it some time. This avoids all the double, triple, etc. entries on this site, which takes up alot of room on the webpage, and it makes it easier for John. Thanks for the info Shirl. Also, hitting F5 reloads it.
