Text of Obituary: John B. Mooney, 84, of Prospect Park died yesterday at his daughter's home in Lester.

Born in Chester, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

He worked as a pattern-maker at Westinghouse for 35 years, retiring in 1969.

He was a lifelong member of the Moyamensing Fire Company and the Delaware County Fireman's Association.

He also played basketball for the Chester Temperance Association.

He was a member of St. Robert's Church.

He is survived by a son, John B. Mooney Jr. of Brookhaven; six daughters, Regina Canzanese and Dolores Mooney, both of Lester, Kathleen Allvord and Maureen Brake, both of West Chester, Eleanor Bell of Linwood, and Frances Rayne of Prospect Park; a sister, Sr. Catherine Mooney S.S.J. of Norwood; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Robert's Church.

Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Carr Funeral Home, 935 S. Providence Road (Route 320), Wallingford, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Contributions in his memory should be made to St. Robert's Church, 20th Street and Providence Avenue, Chester, Pa. 19013, or St. James High School, 21st and Potter Street, Chester, Pa. 19013, or the St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown, Pa. 19031.
