Text of Obituary: Benjamin M. Laskos, 70, of Chester died Friday in Goodland, Kans.

Born in Summit Hills, Pa., he lived in Chester since he was 18.

He worked as an electrical engineer-technician for the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Stations in Philadelphia for 27 years, retiring in 1988.

He served on projects testing fork truck guard solenoids, and assisted in the development of repair procedures for the F.T.G. solenoids, now part of the F.T.G. technical manual.

He was also in the elevator improvement program for the naval stations.

He was Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.

He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

He was a member of the Instruments Society of America; the American Legion, a volunteer with the Hanley Fire Co. in Chester, the West End Boat Club and the Officer's Club at the Navy yard and the Winnebago Travelers Club.

He is survived by his widow, the former Florence Tupekoff; two daughters, Marcia Laskos of San Diego, Ca., and Diane Laukis of Aston; two sons, Craig B. Laskos of Prospect Park, and Jonathon B. Laskos of Chester; a brother, John Laskos of Wyoming, Pa.; two sisters, Wanda Kruslick of Jim Thorpe, Pa. and Cheela Rex of Leesburg, Fla.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nacrelli-Molla Funeral Home, 2217 Providence Ave., Chester.

Burial will be in the Chester Rural Cemetery.
