Text of Obituary: Vincent "James" Gaudiello, 68, of Ridley Park, a former Sun Oil Co. gauger, died Feb. 8 at Crozer Chester Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Chester, Mr. Gaudiello lived in Ridley Park for the past 21/2 years. Prior to that, he resided in Claymont, Del.

Mr. Gaudiello was a gauger in the pumping department of Sun Oil Co. for 43 years. He retired on disability in 1986.

He attended Chester schools.

Mr. Gaudiello was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Chester.

He was a former member of Franklin Fire Co. in Chester.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Gaudiello was the son of the late Antonio and Marianna Stackeni Gaudiello.

He is survived by a son, Vincent J. Gaudiello Jr. of Boothwyn; two daughters, Barbara Smith of Alverson, W. Va. and Maria Endresen of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Michael Gaudiello of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Albert Gaudiello of Brigantine, N.J.; two sisters, Yolanda Czwalina of Morton and Catherine C. Welsh of Ridley Park, with whom he resided; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 2316 Providence Ave., Chester. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Chester. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple. Calling hours are Tuesday after 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
