Text of Obituary: 

Albert Capasso, 79, of Claymont, Del., a former Chester firefighter with Felton Fire Co., died Feb. 22 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Born and reared in Chester, Mr. Capasso lived in the city for 75 years before moving to Delaware four years ago. He was a firefighter who drove the fire trucks for Felton Fire Co. of Chester for 21 years before his retirement in 1981. He also was employed as a courier for the former Sacred Heart Hospital of Chester.

Mr. Capasso was a World War II veteran.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Kerswill "Buckey" Capasso; three sons, Anthony Capasso of Claymont, Del., Albert Capasso of Wilmington, Del. and Francis Capasso of Aston; a daughter, Mary Johns of Marcus Hook; a sister, Lena Eufrasio of Brookhaven. He also was the father of the late Martha Poole who died in May, 1985.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, Marcus Hook. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester. Calling will be from 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.

Notes: Mr. Capasso was born 1/26/1916.
