I seem to remember that Joseph Baumgart was a treasurer at one point."; My name is Katie Lamb [katienine@yahoo.com]. I am the youngest daughter of Joseph Baumgart. My Dad passed away on September 21, 1980. He was born on June 5, 1906. He died of lung Cancer in Pennsylvania, while visiting my sister Joan. My dad made his home in Texas, which is where I was raised. He was buried in Boothwyn Maryland. The Felton Fire Department was very gracious, it was wonderful to meet a few of the gentlemen who served with him as firefighters. My son Aaron follows in his footsteps as a firefighter. He is a firefighter for the BLM. He is with the Idaho City Hotshots. Judy DiMeglio

481 Hallman Jacob "Jake"   1940     Picture Jacob "Jake" Hallman was believed to be Chester's oldest fireman in 1924. He had been a driver since 1902. Jacob Hallman is my Great Grandfather; my mother's maternal grandfather. He was born in 1860 and died in 1940. He lived on 4th street just off the corner of 4th and Yarnell, about a half block from the Felton Fire House, if I recall. I have attached a photo of Jacob in the driver's seat of his fire truck ... but I do not know the name of his horse. he was a driver for Felton, my mother still has his badge. 511 McCarty John J 1942       John J. McCarty, my grandfather, was a a paid driver for Felton until he left to go to work for Sinclair. He continued as a member until his death in 1942. We lived on Jeffery Street at the time. Loretta Gallagher, granddaughter
73 McCarty Joseph H 12/08/98   Obituary   Joseph H. McCarty was a member of the Felton Fire Company from the time he returned from the Occupation Forces after WWII until he passed away on December 8, 1998. He worked for AH Wirz, later Teledyne Wirz for over 50 years. He went to Dewey School and CHS. Lived in Brookhaven when he passed away. He went to and fought fires until his death.
